But during my time exploring the city, I discovered that Vizag has much more to offer than just beautiful beaches.
The funny thing is that many students and tourists spend most of their time along the coastline.
As a result, they miss some of the city's most interesting attractions.
Vizag's identity is shaped by a combination of nature, history, culture, and innovation.
One thing I noticed was the diversity of experiences available.
Students can explore hilltop viewpoints like Kailasagiri.
Visit museums that preserve naval and aviation history.
Walk through parks and green spaces.
Or discover historical and cultural landmarks.
Every location offers something different.
As a student, I found that exploring beyond the beaches helped me appreciate the city more deeply.
The coastline showed one side of Vizag.
The rest of the city revealed many others.
Another lesson I learned was that every city has hidden layers.
The funny thing is that people often judge a place based on its most famous attraction.
Doing so only reveals a small part of the story.
The more students explore, the more complete their understanding becomes.

The BRAVE Competition later reinforced a similar lesson.

Students who step beyond familiar environments discover opportunities, ideas, and perspectives they would otherwise miss.
The same principle applies to exploring a city.
Another thing I noticed was how nature remains present throughout Vizag.
The funny thing is that even away from the beaches, students can still find scenic views, green hills, and peaceful outdoor spaces.
The city manages to balance urban development with natural beauty.

Students often dream of visiting distant destinations while overlooking the attractions around them.

Looking back now, I think one of the best decisions students can make is to explore Vizag beyond its beaches.

Years from now, students may not remember every location they visited.
But they will remember the discoveries.
The lessons.
And the experiences that helped them see the city differently.
Because a city is more than its most famous attraction.

And honestly, exploring beyond the beaches helped me understand why Visakhapatnam is such a remarkable place to live, study, and discover.
