Communication: The Biggest Change in Me
The single biggest area of growth for me has been communication.
Working with different kinds of people, coordinating events and interacting with students across the campus made me more confident and much clearer in expressing my ideas. I was not naturally good at this. I got better at it because the work demanded it, repeatedly.
Learning Event Management by Doing It
NSGC gave me hands-on experience in event management.
From planning through to execution, every event needed teamwork, responsibility and quick decisions. Those experiences taught me how to handle problems as they appear and still deliver a result under pressure — which is a very different skill from knowing the theory.
