Panache – The Grand 7-Day Cultural Festival of Vivekananda Global University

Panache – The Grand 7-Day Cultural Festival of Vivekananda Global University — image 1

Panache is the biggest cultural festival at Vivekananda Global University, and trust me — it changes everything. For seven straight days in March, regular classes stop and the entire campus transforms into this massive celebration zone.

During Panache, the atmosphere of the university changes completely. For seven continuous days, regular classes are suspended, allowing students to fully participate in the celebrations. The campus becomes a lively festival ground where every corner is decorated, music fills the air, and students are seen practicing, performing, and cheering for their departments.

What makes Panache truly extraordinary is the sheer scale of the event. More than 140 competitions and activities are organized over the course of the festival. These events include both inter-department and inter-college competitions, giving students the chance to compete not only with their classmates but also with participants from other colleges. The events cover a wide range of interests, such as singing, dancing, acting, fashion shows, debate, painting, gaming, sports, photography, and literary contests.

One of the most exciting parts of Panache is the grand theme presentation on the opening day. Each department is assigned a different Indian state, such as Assam, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, or Gujarat. Students decorate their department areas with traditional colors, artwork, and cultural symbols that represent the assigned state. They also perform dances, songs, and skits to showcase the heritage and traditions of that region. This event turns the campus into a miniature celebration of India’s diversity and cultural richness.

Panache follows a competitive point system that keeps the excitement alive throughout the week. Departments earn points based on their performances in various events. Every victory contributes to the department’s overall score, creating a strong sense of teamwork and healthy competition. Students passionately support their departments, and the scoreboard becomes a major topic of discussion every day.

At the end of the festival, the department with the highest score is honored with the prestigious Panache Trophy and receives the title of Best Department of the Year. Winning this trophy is considered a matter of great pride and achievement, as it reflects the hard work, dedication, and collective spirit of the entire department.

Panache is not only about competitions; it is also a celebration of entertainment and fun. Famous celebrities, performers, and guest artists are invited to the campus, adding glamour and excitement to the event. Their appearances make the festival even more memorable and attract huge crowds of enthusiastic students.

Every evening ends with an energetic DJ night, one of the most awaited attractions of Panache. Students gather to dance, sing, and enjoy the festive atmosphere with their friends. The music, lights, and joyful energy create unforgettable moments that students cherish long after the festival ends.

Beyond the fun and entertainment, Panache offers valuable opportunities for personal growth. Students learn leadership, teamwork, time management, and event coordination skills while organizing and participating in the festival. It also helps them build confidence by giving them a platform to showcase their talents before a large audience.

Panache brings together students from different departments and backgrounds, strengthening friendships and creating a sense of unity across the university. It allows students to express themselves, discover new talents, and experience the true spirit of campus life.

For many students, Panache is the highlight of their university journey. It is a week filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and unforgettable memories. Whether participating in competitions, supporting friends, meeting celebrities, or dancing under the stars, every student becomes part of an experience that is truly magical.

Panache is more than just a cultural festival—it is a celebration of youth, talent, diversity, and togetherness. It represents the vibrant spirit of Vivekananda Global University and remains one of the most cherished traditions on campus.
