Pitch The Worst Idea

At first, when I heard about SGU Kolhapur's 'Pitch The Worst Idea' event, I thought it would just be another fun activity. But once it started… it turned out to be way more than that.

The whole vibe was different.

Instead of people trying to impress with “perfect ideas,” everyone was just being real — coming up with the most random, funny, and completely impractical ideas… and confidently presenting them like they actually make sense.

And that’s what made it so good.

There was no pressure to be right.
No fear of being judged.
Just a space where you could speak freely and enjoy the moment.

With around 30+ people and 5 teams pitching, the room felt alive.
Every team brought something unique — some ideas were hilarious, some were so weird they actually became creative, and some just made everyone laugh non-stop.

The best part?
The interaction.

The Q&A didn’t feel serious at all — it felt like everyone was just enjoying, reacting, and even playfully roasting the ideas. And somehow, that made people even more confident on stage.

What I really liked about this event is how naturally it helped people open up.

Usually, speaking in front of others feels stressful.
But here, because everything was already “bad on purpose,” no one was afraid anymore.

And that’s when you realize —
sometimes, removing pressure brings out the best in people.

Only one thing though… if more people had been there, the energy would have been insane.

But even then, the event did what it was supposed to do.

It made people laugh.
It made people speak.
And most importantly, it made people comfortable with their ideas.

And honestly…

That’s what made it special.

Our campus hosted a stall event where I watched teams sell everything from protein shakes to VR experiences. One team's tech stall barely made sales until people tried it--then they came back three times. That single moment changed how I think about engineering and business.
