Introduction
The NIAT faculty organised a trip to Amer Fort for every first-year student, and it turned into one of our most memorable days.
Seven buses full of NIATians — our first official adventure together, and nobody expected what the weather was about to do to it.
Seven Buses, and the Ride There
The faculty arranged seven buses, each one filled with students.
For most of us this was the first trip we had taken together, which made the excitement much bigger than the destination warranted on its own. The energy on the buses was something else — singing, laughing, everyone enjoying the ride before we had even arrived.
Refreshments Before the Trek
Once we reached Amer Fort, students were given refreshments before the trek and the guided exploration began.
That is a small piece of planning that made a genuine difference. Everybody started the climb with some energy rather than running out halfway up.
Then It Started Raining
The weather turned as we began the trek, and it started to rain.
It did not dampen the mood at all. If anything the rain made the whole thing better. Walking the historic pathways of Amer Fort while getting completely drenched is a specific kind of memory — everyone soaked through, everyone laughing, all of us sharing the same slightly ridiculous situation.
That is the part everybody still talks about.
The Fort Itself
The architecture of Amer Fort is genuinely majestic, and in that weather, with friends and teachers around, the atmosphere was hard to beat.
Students had the chance to bond properly, take photographs, and actually look at one of Rajasthan's most iconic landmarks rather than hurrying past it.
Conclusion
This was more than a visit to a historical monument.
It was a chance to build connections, make memories that stuck, and feel what the NIAT community is actually like when it is all in one place. It remains one of the best days of our time at NIAT x VGU.
